| IOTA |
. |
Tim is producing the follow up to la caravana, essentially doing it all in house with Iota and himself, though they will bring in outside players as they go- as the songs desire, its going to be a "classic' album. |
| HITCHCOCKS REGRET |
. |
Tim travelled to central coast a few times to record the majority of the new album for this almost 'british' mood rock band, all in a 'garage' studio with minimal equipment, but the result is fantastic --- Fronted by the jazzy Mark Moldre, the band are now down to a 2 piece in the studio with just long time companion musician producer Shane Pex remaining - this album will be mastered by Dave Macquarie in February, and has Tim playing drums on one track- some of this record also produced and engineered by Michael Carpenter (city lights etc etc). |
| JUNTO |
. |
Debut EP for Sydney "hard-art" rock anthemists who are about to tour with Butterfly Effect and COG - just mastered by Don Bartley at 301, this 5 track CD is incredibly eclectic and dynamic, mixing smatterings of wooden flutes and mouth harp with vicious speed bass, solid drums and wall of sound and melody gtrs, Junto are musically a three piece, but build a huge soundscape for vocalist Kane's message of inspiration and action. recorded initially at Big Jesus Burger, essentially "live" with overdubs, mixing and post production at SpacejunkII. |
| THE CHURCH - BESIDE YOURSELF |
. |
A special limited edition Australia only release of 'Beside Yourself', a collection of b-sides, rarities and unreleased tracks from the 'Forget Yourself' sessions.
Although beginning life as a collection of pieces recorded in and around Forget Yourself, BESIDE YOURSELF has exceeded its creator's expectations and has turned out to be one serious bona fide Church album. Featuring three brand new songs (the languid "jazz", the ebullient "tel aviv", and the pulsating "illusion mysteries") plus the ipod exlusives (the pastoral" crash/ride". the strange" nervous breakthrough"). BESIDE YOURSELF also contains the hard to find "hitspacebar", the scintillating and dark"cantilever" as well as the instrumentals moodertronic (euro and calm) and serpenteasy (a voyage to the bottom of Tim Powles musical psyche). |
| BEAUTIFUL WORLD |
. |
An incredibly large debut for the band fronted by Ben Aylward ex- swirl- recorded mostly at Spacejunk I and II and mixed there too, this album is awaiting a label for release. |
| NOAH |

many other adventures in the latter part of 2004, he has
been spending time in the studio tracking and mixing a few songs
being put down by a young Sydney group called 'Noah' |
| THE
CHURCH |
Forget
Yourself . |

their musical offerings the new recordings captures some ground
breaking sounds for the band and shows hints of their rock
roots. The single Song in Space is OUT NOW and is
available from the church shop (www.thechurchband.com)

| THE
CAMELS |
. |
| A
recording that began late last year (taking a break whilst the
Church are in session) and being completed early February, this

| GRANT
MEFFAN |
Living
Remains |
| Surviving
Sydney indie rockers 'Starbelly', New Zealand born singer-songwriter
Grant Meffan built this record in sporadic bursts over a three
year period with the initial tracks being laid on an 8 track
in Tim's loungeroom. Full of Dunedin style melancholy and dark
twists, this album has evolved into a delightfully smooth listen
with a soft subtle electronic undercurrent, yet still centred
around grants low-tone vocal, acoustic guitar and absorbing
songs. A fitting release for Spacejunk - The Label. |
| WILL
HALLIDAY |
Dusk |
| Debut
album for Sydney singer Will Halliday, Dusk is an album full
of a haunting sense of loss, iced with sharp melody and a smooth
band feel. Recorded over a three year period in sessions spread
apart due to Tim's touring and recording commitments with the
Church, this collection of soft and often sad tunes features
a wide variety of Sydney musicians including David Lane, Peter
Koppes (the church) and Mike Caen (Mentals as Anything). At
this stage Will is unsigned and the world is awaiting this release.

One Eleven is a band formed amongst some of Sydney's experienced
musicians and has the capable, vocals of Cindy Ryan out front,
they began working with Tim in the late 90s and during this
time Tim has been involved as co - producer on ARIA nominated
Mr Big Car and In Your Hands. Stella is a band that easily glides
from pop to urban country, to throaty ballad backed by sweeping
guitar giving it serious pepper, in a way that only emboldens
their sound. "This is pop-rock at its most original and adventurous,
at times powerful and angry (Postcard), at others seductively
haunting (Ruff You), and even uplifting and infectious (Jump
In The River)." Music Network 10 Oct 2000 www.stella-one-eleven.com

SHIFTING
SANDS OF A BLUE CAR |
| Shifting
Sands of a Blue Car Shifting Sands of a Blue Car was a creation
that started life with Antonio and Pete at Blarto and came to
the fore in Spacejunk Studio's with Tim during 2000, the production
being cited as 'uncompromising'. Jamison Young is a powerful
Sydney songwriter who, with Tim meshed moving guitar melodies
with an evocative vocal performance and fleeting sounds of computer
driven technology. "The arrangements on shifting sands of a
blue car give it unique depth .This is a layered and richly
textured album, conjuring up evocative images with its haunting
lyrics which seep with slow grace into the consciousness of
anyone who dares to allow it." Zolton Zavos Revolver http://www.crackenback.com.au/nautilus/

| SARA
MITCHEL |
THE
GREY ROOM |
| Completed
in 2000, 'The Grey Room' is due for release on Spacejunk - the
label early 2003 through MGM. A working relationship developed
between Sara and Tim in 1994 whilst they were both involved
with the 'Creative Youth Initiatives Project' for disadvantaged
young people. It was in Tim's Spacejunk Studio during the late
90's that 'The Grey Room' evolved, Sara had the inspiration
for a solo album and Tim was drawn to the lyrical depth and
melodic strength of the songs and their true life content. After
initial sketches with early collaborator Chris Campbell, Tim
brought the picture full cycle. Later joined by 'Crackerbox'
partner David Skeet, throwing ambience and soft electronica
at Sara's originally born tunes. |
| PENNY
FLANAGAN |
. |
| Penny
and Tim began working together in '98 when she had an album's
worth of material to craft. Penny is a gifted songwriter who
takes melodies in unexpected directions effortlessly. This album
is caressed by a smooth pop production not previously explored
in Penny's music, that guides her writing from being stripped
back to their acoustic bones, to the compelling listening inherent
in her more complex arrangements. Sonically and lyrically dark
in tone, this album with flawless performances, maintains it's
credibility 5 years on. |
